NxtUp Tryout Registrations NxtUp Tryout Registrations

The Basketball Saskatchewan NxtUp Program was established in 2020 and is made up of a number of Boys and Girls Regional Training Centres throughout Saskatchewan. The Regional Training Centres will run their tryouts in late August each year with the selected athletes training with the NxtUp program from the end of September until mid November when the High School Basketball season begins. Through the NxtUp program, athletes get the opportunity to work with members of our High Performance Coaching Staff to improve their offensive and defensive skills in the game of basketball. Athletes can use the NxtUp program to help them prepare for their High School season and the Basketball Saskatchewan Provincial Team tryouts.

The NxtUp program is designed to improve an athlete in all aspects of the sport. Through this program, athletes will receive the following:

  • Opportunity to participate in the NxtUp Showcase weekend (Nov. 5th to 7th) in front of the Basketball Saskatchewan High Performance Coaches. The Showcase weekend will provide both training and competition with members from each Regional Training Centre
  • A minimum of 20 hours of on court training
  • Basketball specific Strength and Conditioning program
  • Opportunities to attend Sport Science seminars
  • NxtUp Swag (Reversible jersey and shorts)
  • Opportunity to progress to our Targeted Athlete Strategy (TAS) program during the NxtUp Showcase Tournament. (The decision to move athletes from the NxtUp program to the TAS program will be made at the discretion of our High Performance Coaching Staff)
