In the Neighbourhood: Coach Education Opportunities for Local Coaches
SBCC Coach Education Series – Behind the Bench with Guest Coach Jodi Gram
BSI is excited to host guest coach Jodi Gram for 2 coaching education opportunities on Friday August 7th as part of our National Championship Week! Coach Gram is excited to talk about a variety of topics to support the growth of coaches who are in the train to train/train to compete stage of our LTAD (think competitive club, high school, intro to provincial team programming etc.) Both of these sessions are uniquely designed where coaches will spend an hour in the classroom and then transition to the stands to observe on of our National Championship week games where they will start observing and discussing the game with the new knowledge they have gotten from the classroom session. Coach Gram has an extensive coaching resume that brings an amazing amount of insight to the game, and she had a passion to uplift the next group of coaches who are on track to be the next stewards of our game.

Session A Friday August 7th 11:30-12:30pm Classroom, 12:45pm-2:30pm Game Observation of NC Semi Finals Game – Classroom session open to any coach but we do have to cap attendance #’s at 12 for the game observation section to facilitate good conversation during the game. First 12 to register will secure access to both components.
Session B Friday August 7th 6:00pm-7:00pm Classroom, 7:15pm-9:00pm Game Observation of NC Consolation Final Games – This session is available for female coaches only. Classroom session open to any interested female coach but we do have to cap attendance #’s at 12 for the game observation section to facilitate good conversation during the game. First 12 to register will secure access to both components
Team Sask Alumni Night
BSI is inviting all former players and coaches who have participated in a Team Sask provincial team program either this year or in any previous year to come celebrate BSI’s 50 year anniversary during opening day at National Championships.
Our 2 provincial teams will play on Monday August 3rd and 3:30pm and 5:30pm and we are hoping to pack the stands with generations of former members to help cheer them on to victory! All alumni will receive a day pass at 50% off the regular price and will get special access to an alumni room that will have free beverages and food as well as some great photo history to check out. Simply visit the ticket desk on game day and let us know you are a Team Sask Player and what year you played in to access the discount and join the day of celebrations!
Community Partners
During this week of National Championships we are taking the time to remember some of our key community partners who are helping to provide easy access for youth in Saskatchewan to participate in basketball. During each of their highlight days we will have information about their programming available on site at the games and on our social media. We are also providing a number of passes for youth under 18 to attend a game that day for free if you participated in that program this last year. A code will be sent out from the program administrator to all eligible participants and the first 50 people to come to the ticket desk on their day get free entry! The next 50 get a 50% off discount!
