NAIG 2023

The North American Indigenous Games (NAIG) help Indigenous athletes realize the collective potential of our bodies, minds, spirit and of our people – our hopes and dreams – the spirit strong, brave and true. The Games will bring together 756 Indigenous Nations to celebrate, share and reconnect through sport and culture in Kjipuktuk (Halifax), Dartmouth and Millbrook First Nation.

In 2023, Saskatchewan will be taking a team of 500 Athletes, Coaches and Managers all the way to Halifax for 8 days of sport competition, cultural celebration and comradery. These games are something that we hope every member of Team Saskatchewan will remember for a lifetime. Participating with Team Saskatchewan is an opportunity that helps shape the lives of our young people. The North American Indigenous Games is something for our youth to work towards and to look forward to. Team Saskatchewan Alumni have gone on to have successful careers, to make lifelong friends and to give back to their own home communities.

The basketball team will consist of 40 athletes divided among four different teams. Team Saskatchewan’s basketball teams will compete in the 16U female and male categories and 19U female and male categories and will carry 10 athletes per team.
