The new Modified
Games component of the new NCCP was piloted by Mike Mackay (third from
right) of Canada Basketball in Regina recently.
Those attending
the one-day session (from left to right) included: Andre Lussier of Sherwood
Park, Alberta, Tim Artemenko of Regina, Bill Weir, head coach of the
Basketball Saskatchewan bantam boys high performance camp,
Mackay, Mark Benesh of Shaunavon and Vice-President of Coaching Development
for Basketball Saskatchewan, and Darcy McKeown, vice-principal of Indian
Head High School.
Lussier, a coach
and administrator in the Strathcona Minor Basketball League, and Artemenko,
technical director of Regina Community Basketball
Association, helped Mackay develop the new coaching module.
Weir and McKeown
will be course conductors for the new NCCP in
Saskatchewan.
