Spring Program - Coaching Opportunities

U9 & U11:
The program will consist of 2 practices a week March 29th to May 6th (no practices the week of April 5th).
The Steve Nash Youth Basketball Program will be continued in this age group.

Coaches will be provided:

• The New NCCP Community Coach clinic. 
• Steve Nash Youth Basketball Coaching CD Manual - LTAD focused curriculum with sample drills, lesson plans, teaching tips, etc.
• Coach's T-shirt and whistle.
• An introductory guide to LTAD that provides a framework of athlete development with reference to growth, maturation and development.
• BSI Membership & Canada Basketball Membership with access to extensive and qualified coaching resources.
• Honorarium of $175

Coaches outside of Regina & Saskatoon may enter a team but must provide gym space. 
Invoices for gyms can be submitted to Basketball Saskatchewan for payment. 

U11 will also have a regional tournament on May 8 & 9 (girls play on Saturday, boys play on Sunday), the locations will be determined based on the number of participants in each area. 
Referees will be utilized but no score will be kept. 

 

 

U13:
5 week program of 2 practices a week for 1½ hours each from April 12th to May 13th.

Participants will be taught fundamental offensive, defensive and team skills. 

Teams are eligible for 2 tournaments - they will automatically registered in their home tournament.  

Each tournament will consist of 3 one hour games with 2 officials and score keepers (teams not required to travel will play the evening of the first day)

           Regina   Girls April 30th & May 1st                         Saskatoon  Boys May 14 & 15

                        Boys May 1st & 2nd                                                  Girls May 15 & 16

Coaches outside of Regina & Saskatoon may enter a team but must provide gym space.  Invoices for gyms will can be submitted to Basketball Saskatchewan for payment.

Honorarium of $250 plus $100 for travel to tournament(s) outside of their area. 

A U14 provincial championship with representation from each zone will be held on July 4-6. 
Players will be selected from ID camp held in each zone on May 29 & 30 where ever possible.
